O’s Notes: Drummer Towner Galaher leads a band with Jimmy Sanders (B-3, keyboards), Randy Monroe (b), Marvin Horne (g), and Craig Handy (t-sax). The Brothers came together in Portland and coalesced musically and as friends during the early 1980s. Jimmy and his late brother, to whom this album is dedicated, were a part of many different configurations. The groove is funky and engaging all the way through starting with “Brothers”. Handy leads most of the melodies and the rhythm section is sick! They slow down a notch with the mellow “The Diamond Chalice”, balancing a set of strong original music.
