O’s Notes: Perelman is back, yes with another release in a very busy year. Butterfly Whispers is a trio collaboration with drummer Whit Dickey and Matthew Shipp on piano. They dial up ten free jazz selections that sound like their titles suggesting that a narrative is included. Those titles are courtesy of Brazilian poet Dila Galvao to whom the set is dedicated. There is a more definitive string of melodies that are echoed by the musicians, as much as can be expected in this avante garde experience.
