O’s Notes: Veteran jazz saxophonist Richie Cole considers Cannonball Adderley one of his favorites hence this tribute,“Cannonball. Cole shares melodies with venerable trombonist Reggie Watkins supported by a rhythm section including Kevin Moore (p), Eric Susoeff (g), Mark Perna (b) and Vince Taglieri (d). They perform fourteen classics that were a part of Adderley’s repertoire but recast to Cole’s signature. Highlights are “Dat Dere”, “Jive Samba” and “Save Your Love For Me” featuring Kenia singing both takes.
