O’s Notes: Contemporary jazz guitarist, composer, producer Dr. Dave redressed his 2014 album Carefree with The Housecall Band for 2022’s Carefree Revisited. The latter packs a solid punch. There’s nice guitar work all the way through by Dr. Dave and Steve Wilcox. Cecil McBee, Jr. (b), Rob Whitlock (keyboards), Kevin Flournoy (keyboards) and Bill Harris (marimba) are some of the other talented musicians in this collective. Highlights are “Come Together”, “Almost Trinidad”, “Feels So Good”, a little reggae on “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, and a contemporary cover of “Take 5”. Dr. David Paul Hatherill is also a practicing psychologist specializing in family therapy! His music will help.
