O’s Notes: Parisian vocalist Madeleine Peyroux sings romantic adult contemporary with a nice dose of New Orleans soul. She was born in Georgia and now resides in Paris. Her soft tone and smooth delivery make tough messages easier to swallow. Originally released in 2004, Careless Love is full of romantic adventures. This reissue is a 2-disc set with a previously unreleased live recording from the Jazz Festival of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, July 15, 2005. We especially enjoyed the crisp musical accompaniment from the live set. It’s no wonder this album went Platinum and still finds a place in Peyroux’s repertoire.
