O’s Notes: One of the most unheralded B3 masters is Tony Monaco. Those who know him know he burns with the best and Celebration is yet another platform for him to explode. It is a two-disc set, his first recording in six years. It’s time for you to get aquatinted, reacquainted or just sit back and enjoy some hearty cool jazz. If you need guidance, check out “Indonesian Nights”, “Bull Years” or “To Be Continued” on Disc One and then there’s Disc Two including Donny McCaslin (sax) and Joey DeFrancesco (B3). Tony wrote most of the tunes and plays them with an R&B fervor that really cooks!
