O’s Notes: Drummer Pete Zimmer teams up with Jeremy Pelt (t), David Wong (b) and Avi Rothbard (g) for this live set at the Jazz Factory in Louisville, KY. The program is split between originals and covers. Zimmer’s “Search” brings us into their cool groove right away featuring Rothbard. Pelt shines on “Doxy” along with Rothbard. Each of the six tunes is long enough for the musicians to fully develop their solos. We enjoyed it as much as the live audience did!
