O’s Notes: This is a formidable trio with Cecil McBee (b), Matt Wilson (d) and leader Evans on piano. They have worked together on many occasions and this is the second in what should be many future recording sessions. They swing on nine songs, a blend of Evans originals and freshened standards. Among the best are “Feel Free” and “Luna Blue”. It’s a good set leaving us anxious for Act III.
