O’s Notes: Pianist Laszlo Gardony combines Progressive Rock with Modern Jazz and his native, Hungarian folk music to arrive at a forward groove. His band is a trio with bassist John Lockwood and Yoron Israel on drums. They have played together for over 20 years with a Close Connection that allows Gardony’s creations to flourish. Among the best are warm ballads like “Hopeful Vision” and the spirited “Night Run”.
