O’s Notes: There’s a gentle, cool spirit that spills out on the opener, “Illusion” which is followed by a swinging bluesy number that features Flora on her electric guitar as well as vocals. We found the entire program maintained this spirit. “Riverman” is very passionate along with “On A Clear Day” featuring Mike Zachernuk (flugelhorn). They add a couple of classics with “Caravan” highlighting Campbell Ryga (soprano sax) and “Señor Blues”. Both cuts give Scott a chance to open up on guitar and scatting. There are brass accents scattered throughout the session adding spice to a well-balanced set.
