O’s Notes: Guitarist Alex Wintz is back on the scene with Collage, a contemporary set with Victor Gould (p), Matt Penman (b), and Jimmy MacBride (d). The music reflects Wintz’s life experiences and they are generally pleasant! The program includes fresh arrangements of classics and some original songs as well. Our favorites are “Better Half”, “It’s Been A Minute”, and “Pondhop”. Alex stretches out on “The Shadow of Your Smile” including excellent solos by Gould and Penman.
