O’s Notes: For ConBrio! Ali is celebrating the culmination of a series of strong events in 2011. Brio! flutes collaborated with her to design her autographed series of flutes. She breathes happiness into these new instruments with her dream band including Mike Mainieri (vibes), Pete Levin (p), Mike DeMicco (g), Mark Egan (b) and Danny Gottlieb (d). Levin, DeMicco and Mainieri also contribute original compositions to the set. The music is fresh, vibrant and energizing. There is a lot to enjoy here including the title track, “Where Flamingos Fly”, “Lydian Grin” and “Another Time, Another Place”.
