O’s Notes: This 3-CD set captures the mastery of Michel in three different live settings: at Nabari (Japan, 1994) with Louis Petrucciani (b) and Lenny White (d); with Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen (b) at Copenhagen Jazzhouse (Denmark, 1994); and solo at the Antiles Juan Les Pins Jazz Festival (France, 1993). He shines in all settings with unique arrangements of standards but we prefer the Duo CD best, with two masters at work!
