O’s Notes: Cool Yule is a Holiday album featuring violinist Mads Tolling with his band The Mads Men, a quartet with Colin Hogan (keyboards, accordion), Gary Brown (b), and Eric Garland (d). They play a dozen classics in a minimalist form. We enjoyed “Santa Baby” a duet with Tolling and Brown, “My Favorite Things” and the title track with special guest vocalist Sonny-Freddie Pedersen.
