O’s Notes: Drummer Louis Hayes has been keeping time for over six decades during which he’s performed with many jazz legends. For Crisis he leads a star-studded band with vibraphonist Steve Nelson, pianist David Hazeltine, bassist Dezron Douglas and saxophonist Abraham Burton. Camille Thurman adds beautiful vocals on two selections notably “I’m Afraid the Masquerade is Over”. Other highlights are Nelson’s “Alien Visitation” featuring Burton, “Oxygen” by Douglas, and the title track.
