O’s Notes: Do the Boomerang is a throwback recording to the soul music days. It is well done by Don (reeds) and his band. Dean Bowman adds scatting funky vocals on the opener “Cleo’s Mood” to establish the joyful mood. He’s back for a few more hits later as well. We were bobbin our head on the title track and the move into high gear on “Shotgun”! If you want to feel like dancing, this is the ticket!
