O’s Notes: Ben Sidran is a keyboardist and producer who steps into the spotlight singing a blues jazz set that will resonate with many folks. His style on Don’t Cry For No Hipster has hints of Michael Franks and Steve Miller who are among the many jazz and pop recording stars he worked with in the past. Most of the tunes are originals and the lyrics are edgy but softened with subtle humor. Ben sings on top of a bouncy casual groove that flows with his moods. This is a winner.
