O’s Notes: This DVD features the Godfather of Soul in two live concerts late in his career. The first is at NY’s Studio 54 in 1980 followed by a 1985 show in Atlanta, GA. 6By 1985 Brown doesn’t have the same range with his voice or dance steps in Atlanta but he does spark memories with many of his classic hits. And he shows us a couple of the dance moves and splits on “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag”. The New York concert is much better giving us a clear picture of the legend that inspired so many of us. He was rocking hard on “I Got That Feeling”! In 1980 and even at times five years later, James could still whip his audience into a frenzy.
