O’s Notes: Trumpeter Natsuki Tamura frequently plays contemporary free jazz in various configurations. On Dragon Nat, he takes his first solo outing in nearly a decade! He combines pure sweet tones with raspy vocalized renderings in a creative set that remains true to form (free jazz) but is much more palatable to the ordinary listener as there is a singular voice. Many of the tunes are from his quartet, Gato Libre but again easier to embrace here.
