O’s Notes: Eric created E-Bop to reflect his learning and creative spirit. It is not an expression of conformity but one of individual expression. As a pianist and the composer of eight of the ten tracks, he succeeds in this expression which by the way is also appealing to bebop fans! The quintet is Reed, Marcus Printup (t), Walter Blanding (sax), Rodney Whitaker (b) and Rodney Green (d). Our hat is off to the man and his music, which help expand on jazz tradition.
