O’s Notes: Earth Wind And Wonder“is a collection of jazzed up classic R&B tunes by Earth Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder. Saxophonist, flutist, producer and bandleader Don Braden invites a strong team including his standbys bassist Joris Teepe, and drummer Cecil Brooks III to join him. But this is mostly Don’s show as he dominates the melodies over the 65+ minute session occasionally deferring to his pianists. The originals are great for reminiscing and fans of Braden will be pleased with his arrangements.
