O’s Notes: PLS is pianist Pier Luigi Salami and his trio includes bassist Martin Fowler and drummer Shawn Crowder. They play a mix of Northern European jazz and American contemporary jazz that is more definitive than the former and more sophisticated than the latter. They play what many would consider jazz fusion but also include an abundance of contemporary jazz ballads. “Once Again”, “Yellow’s Not Just A Color” and “Into The Skyline” are highlights.
