O’s Notes: Trumpeter, composer, and producer John Vanore leads his large ensemble, Abstract Truth on Easter Island Suite. There are four well developed movements that capture the mystery and suspense of 1000 or so statues on the island. Our favorite is “Mvt. 3 The Secret Caves” with solos from Michael Mee (sax, fl), Bob Howell (sax), Brian Landrus (b-cl), Greg Kettinger (g), Dan Monaghan (d), and Craig Thomas (b).
