O’s Notes: Guitarist, composer/arranger Doug MacDonald leads a trio with Mike Flick (b) and Kendall Kay (d) for Edwin Alley, a collection of mostly originals. Flick carries the melody from time to time but it’s a guitar lovers delight! “EYOW – Is This It”, “Zoot And Pepper”, and “Grooves Blues” are highlights and Kay comes alive on “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”, the lone standard.
