O’s Notes: Rhett Frazier wrote the lyrics, sings and provided the inspiration for Escape From Dee-Troyt, a reflection on the plight of the motor city. He touches on the past glory, the soul music but more on the current state of pain. It is mostly rock/blues music with strong support from co producer Donny Gruendler (d, synths). “Is That O.K?” is among the best of the ten tracks. This musical amalgamation captures the plight of Detroit, a city on the mend.
