Jazz Ruler Type: R&B+Jazz
O’s Notes: Rick ads Latin flavor to his normal funky R&B grooves on Esperanto. While he strikes his characteristic groove on the opener “Green Tomatoes” with guitarist, Norman Brown, the bulk of the tracks have more of a relaxed Spanish feel. We like the smooth tones from his trumpet on “The Village Di Costa” and the upbeat club feel of “Zona Rosa”. This is a nice blend of contemporary genres expanding Braun’s palate while not abandoning his signature or his audience.
