O’s Notes: Walter Becker plays guitar, bass, percussion and sings along with partner Donald Fagen who plays keyboards, percussion and sings the majority of songs. This is the same groove from their hey days. It’s a tried and true formula. That means natural instruments and soft well-articulated vocals. Why mess with a good thing? The lyrics are fresh, with contemporary references. Highlights include “Green Book”, “Everything Must Go” and “The Last Mall”. It still feels good.
