O’s Notes: Flutist, composer and arranger Magela Herrera assembles multiple band configurations for“Explicaciones,“a journey through eight Latin tinged songs with a head-bobbing vibe that is infectious. Her musicians are all first rate including pianist Tal Cohen who delivers a stunning performance on “Danzón Para Papá”. Herrera adds vocals on the title track, “My One And Only Love” and “Besame Mucho” to round out a stimulating session.
