O’s Notes: Jan Kus plays tenor and soprano sax and leads a quartet performing mostly original tunes. Faith is an inviting session that is easy to embrace. “I’m Just A Little Person” features soft vocals by Melanie JB Charles who returns scatting on “Strength”. Pianist Sean Fitzpatrick shines on “One For The Band – Sean’s Story” our favorite of 3 iterations of this song. Kus takes the spotlight on a fresh, calypso arrangement of “Rhythm A Ning” with trumpeter Alex Spiagin working the magic alongside him here and again on “Neofito”. We also enjoyed “Emptiness” featuring guest Antonio Hart on alto sax.
