O’s Notes: At 80 years old, vibraphonist Terry Gibbs is still going strong. He’s able to keep up with his younger accompanying musicians. Listen to him burn on “Hey Jim” along with the rest of the band! This is a live studio set with Joey DeFrancesco (B3), Eric Alexander (sax), Dan Faehnle (g), Gary Gibbs (d) and Ray Armando (congas). They are having fun, whether it’s “St. Louis Blues” or “Waltz Rubiot”. The solos are tight and the music swings. It is very enjoyable.
