O’s Notes: Final Floor represents the last original material from Throttle Elevator Music, an instrumental band that blends free jazz with punk rock. These eleven, original tunes were recorded from 2011-2014, with additional musicians and arrangements done in 2019-2020. Kamasi Washington (t-sax), Erik Jekabson (t), Mike Blankenship (synthesizer) and Ross Howe (g) make strong contributions with songwriters Matt Montgomery (b, g, p) and Gregory Howe (g, B3, synthesizer). This captures their essence in full with “Heart of Hearing”, “Caste Off” and “Rooftop Sunrise” standing out.
