O’s Notes: Blue Sky is a swinging New Orleans blues band featuring Craig Gildner (vocals, g, p) leading their sophomore effort. +2 is female vocalist Chris Crerar and Gary Gregg (cl). They play as a septet on “I Didn’t Know What Time It Was” providing a fresh change of pace. The more intimate trio and quartet settings are equally rewarding. The program is mostly freshly arranged standards with several Gildner originals a well. We liked the fun strummin’ “Hoosier Daddy” among the latter. This is music made for dancing so get ready to cut the rug!
