O’s Notes: Larry Grisham leads The Beat Daddy’s. He had a hand in writing all of the songs, produced the album, sings and plays guitar, harmonica and mandolin on it as well. These boys are from the Gulf Coast, New Orleans specifically and hence have a lot of real Katrina blues to overcome. But these 12 songs are more of the hard drivin’ Bourbon Street blues that keep your blood flowing. They also have some light funky beats on “She Goes Down” and “Call Me Back”. Britt Meacham handles all lead guitar and solos with Barry Bays on bass for the majority of the session. Five Moons is a great New Orleans style blues album recorded by guys who know the rocking blues space!
