O’s Notes: Willie plays drums and percussion with a lot of character. He has a prominent signature that is highlighted by the remainder of his quartet, Sheldon Powell (sax, fl), guitarist Barry Galbraith and George Duvivier (d). The bossa nova beats of “Serenata” feel good followed by the slow sultry blues of “añigo Soul”. Powell’s flute makes “After Words” pleasantly peaceful while “Tasty” is a cool jam. The entire program bounces along happily.
