O’s Notes: Jeff (keyboards) is one of the architects of contemporary jazz. His music has a funky R&B groove that registers well with a broad base of listeners. While Jeff uses a lot of electronic instrumentation and effects on keyboards, it is done tastefully. Flipside is his latest effort combining up to date urban beats with solid jazzy improvisation. The first track, “Everybody Knows That”, hints at top 10 and the balance doesn’t disappoint us including the subtle reggae beats of “Angel in Paris”. They keep us engaged on all ten tracks; predominantly cool medium tempo songs with characteristic ‘Lorber’ hooks’.
