O’s Notes: The Chicago Plan is a free jazz quartet featuring Gebhard Ullmann (t-sax, b-cl), Steve Swell (tb), Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello, electronics) and Michael Zerang (d). The horns are intermingled in a spontaneous, free flowing interchange while Lonberg-Holm and Zerang anchor the rhythms. For New Zealand is racy, but it has a good flow.
