O’s Notes: The son of master contemporary jazz artist Ramsey Lewis is bassist, arranger, composer and producer Frayne Lewis. He has a wealth of R&B and jazz influences that come through on this session. The other musicians are his brother Bobby Lewis (d, vocals), Cristina Sanchez (vocals), Kevin Randolph (keys), Eric Jackson (g) and Stereo (DJ/programmer). The program is packed with solid originals mixed in with covers of classic R+B that has been freshened for the new millennium. “A Night To Remember” and “For The Love Of You” are good examples of the latter. The vocals are rich and the beats are tight. This is definitive Top 10 classic R&B!
