O’s Notes: This is a fine collection of traditional jazz with compositions from the pen of Fraser MacPherson played by a wide range of musicians who put their own spin on things! There is a lot of talent and a lot of fun starting with Scott Hamilton wailing on “Night Spot” followed by Virginia MacDonald cooking on clarinet with Lucian Gray (g) and Dan Fortin (b) on “Queen’s Pawn”. Next up is Jocelyn Gould (g) singing “It’s A Human Race” and we still have eight more to go! Steve Kaldestad (t-sax) warms up the ballad “Rabbit’s Habit”, and guitarist Oliver Gannon cooks on “Ol Bill’s Blues” featuring Cory Weeds on sax in this re-imagination of MacPherson’s gems.
