O’s Notes: Rufus was the godfather of Memphis funk, the man who produced a large number of irresistible funky tunes between 1967 and 1975. Not only were they danceable but Rufus created many of the popular dances of the times: the funky penguin, the funky robot and the push and pull are a few. They are all included here on this collection of 18 tracks. Late in his career, he proclaimed himself as the Funkiest Man Alive. It’s tough to argue with him!
