O’s Notes: Veteran contemporary jazz icon Gerald Albright brings his punctuated, funky saxophone, flute and bass back on the scene with“G, his latest release. He gets help from co-producer Chris “Big Dog” Davis (keyboards), Rick Watford (g) and Judge “J.J.” Williams (d). The program is mostly Albright originals that will not disappoint his fans. There are a few vocal tracks to spruce things up notably“Michael McDonald on “Lovely Day” and “G and Doug E.” featuring rapper Doug E. Fresh. Other standouts are “We Came To Play”, “Funkism” and “Boom Boom”.
