O’s Notes: Baritone saxophonist and composer David Larsen emerges from the pandemic with G2 and You and Bright Days, a double album release celebrating his new label G2, and the renewed freedom of collaboration. His band is a quartet with Danny McCollim (keys), Josh Skinner (b) and Brendan McMurphy (d). Larsen opens with seductive romance on “Angel Eyes”. It’s a program of four standards and four originals inspired by Cole Porter and Horace Silver resulting a memorable, 43 minute session.
