O’s Notes: The Baylor Project is an exciting band featuring husband and wife duo Jean Baylor (vocals) and Marcus Baylor (d). While this is only their second album together, both are polished, proven musicians, Jean formerly half of the duo Zhane and Marcus the former drummer with the Yellowjackets. This combination of soulful female vocals and strong, jazzy R&B is intoxicating. We enjoyed the rootsy, spiritual take on “2020”, the silky blues of “Walk On By” and loved “We Swing” with guest vocalists Diane Reeves and Jazzmeia Horn.
