O’s Notes: Braden is a polished traditional jazz saxophonist who has been thrilling fans around the world for many years. His music is accessible while staying true to straight ahead jazz fans. He plays with a fine band including drummer Cecil Brooks III, Joris Teepe (b) and George Colligan (p). They have worked together on numerous occasions and it shows! The program includes laid-back covers of “Never Can Say Goodbye”, “Masquerade” and “Willow Weep For Me”. Braden also includes a few originals notably “The Hunter”, a cool duet with Teepe. It all comes together on Gentle Storm, a perfect wind-down session.
