O’s Notes: Guitarist Jeff Golub has evolved his signature to take classic tunes and make them his own while retaining the original character. Prime Examples: “If You Want Me To Stay”, “Ain’t No Woman Like The One I Got” and “Something”. You can reminisce or rejuvenate with his attack. Of course the infusion of guest artists Rick Braun (t), Richard Elliott (sax), Luis Conte (perc), Kirk Whalum (sax) and Philippe Saisse (p) certainly keeps things fresh. Golub includes a majority of funky originals with catchy hooks. He’s rocking on “Grand Central” and giving us a taste of the blues on “The Way I Feel Tonight” and swinging on “Hello Betty” to keep us engaged all the way through!
