O’s Notes: Trombonist Alex Heitlinger assembles a sextet with Greg Gisbert (t), Peter Sommer (sax), Art Lande (p), Dwight Kilian (b) and Jill Fredericksen (d). They quickly settle into a cool session of modern jazz. It is all new music written by Heitlinger featuring each of his band members respectively. We particularly liked the title track, “Euphoria” and “Xela – Trombone Warrior”. It is a balanced program that is well executed.
