O’s Notes: This is a live recording featuring Jeremy Monteiro on the organ with guitarist Andrew Lim and drummer Chanutr Techatana-nan, more simply known as Hong. Monteiro is a veteran keyboard player who has taken to the Nord C1 organ because of its portability vs. the classic B3. He assembled his younger Asian counterparts for the debut recording of Organamix at Groove Junction in Malaysia. They have all of the juices flowing on “Mercy Mercy Mercy” and “Alligator Boogaloo” to the delight of the audience. Lim takes charge leading the melody for “Black Orpheus” with Jeremy soloing. Monteiro adds vocals on “I’m Old Fashioned” as they slow down just a bit before closing the set with “Sunny” capping an entertaining session.
