O’s Notes: Saxophonist Jeff Lederer leads his Swing n’ Dix band with Matt Wilson (d), Kirk Knuffke (cornet), Bob Stewart (tuba), Curtis Hasselbring (tb), and Mary LaRose (voice) on Guilty!!! The highly improvised music is enhanced with the inclusion of excepts from the news. It mirrors the chaos of our society, more specifically the crazy political scene of 2024. The titles alone are expressions of Lederer’s thoughts: “Cheapening the Process”, “Deportation Operation”, and “Truth Is Marching In” are a few examples. Buckle up, this is now the reality of the USA.
