O’s Notes: Norwegian jazz, pianist, composer and bandleader Jon Balke dials up a rather symphonic set for Siwan. The band is rich in percussion and strings led by violinist Bartelstein Eire. Vocalist Mona Boutchebak softens the attack on several tracks notably “Dialogo En La Noche”. There’s a mysterious vibe on “Linea Oscura”, “Wadadtu” and “Enamorado De Jupiter” that make this like an adventurous cinema soundtrack, a journey to sit back and enjoy.
