O’s Notes: Clarinetist Anat Cohen assembles a tentet for“Happy Song“her latest release. James Shipp (vibes, perc), Sheryl Bailey (g) and Victor Gonalves (p, accordion) are among the talented team led by musical director Oled Lev-Ari. They open with the title track and it is true to form contrasted with the more melancholic “Valsa Para Alice” that folllows it. Both are Cohen originals. This pattern is repeated through the set but one thing is constant. It swings! “Oh Baby” is a prime example.
