O’s Notes: Headin’ Out is Matt’s sixth recording as a leader. His band is a quartet featuring guitarist Tony Purrone with The young bassist Preston Murphy and Ed Soph on drums. Criscuolo plays alto sax and wrote four of the nine elections. Purrone contributes two songs to go along with three classics. Matt continues to evolve and we think this is his best effort to date with strong support from Purrone.
